I Hope You Get It

“I Hope You Get It” from Experimental Subjects by Spun Honey. Released: 2020. Track 1. Genre: Rock.

We’re all gonna get it, eventually
Anyone and everyone and you and me
We’re all gonna get it, it’s a certainty
We’re all gonna get it most definitely

Hide your mom, hide your dad,
And hope and pray that it won’t end bad,
You can hide your wife, you can hide your son,
You can hide your daughter but it’s still not done,

I hope you get it
I hope you get it
I hope you get it and it moves right through you
I hope you get it
I hope you get it
I hope you get it and it moves right through you

~~ guitar solo ~~

I hope you get it
I hope you get it
I hope you get it and it moves right through you
I hope you get it
I hope you get it
I hope you get it and it moves right through you
(repeat w/harmonies)

Crack an egg in a frying pan
This is your brain on CNN
The pimps of hysteria are pumping up the tension
The ratings are rising and that’s the one intention

Live from the lockdown as the drama mounts
Please stay tuned for the body counts
Stay at home, stay glued to this show
They got you where they want you and that’s all they know
They give you one side, they tell you who to blame
They want to split us up when we’re all the same
These apoplectic meltdowns on the TV news
Are feeding an addiction of self-abuse
This television crack is worse than any drug
We should get together and pull the plug
Turn off the Fox News, turn off the CNN
Take all this division and make it end
Rodney King asked it and I’ll ask it in this song
I’m asking you please . . . can’t we all just get along?

Keep calm and carry on
(x 4)
(x 4 w/harmonies)

  1. Very high energy !!! Poor Jeb. Nice hooks and clear message . Remember Fear’s “I don’t care about You” ?
Was the bass recorded directly into the board ? John Lydon and Jello would be proud !!!

I never really listened to very much Fear. I’m going to check that song out right now.

That song is hardcore, I dig it!

That’s actually programmed bass. I have to get my chops back into shape. Dropping in the bass is the last step, although once I sent out the peogrammed bass parts to all the other musicians, it started sounding better and better.
